Board Members

As an introduction, we asked our board to share a childhood photo and answer the following questions:

What is your occupation? What do you love doing now? What is your connection to dance? Why are you on LITVAKdance’s board?

Nikki Dunnan, treasure

1. I am a dancer, teacher, and non-profit administrator. I currently work at Art Produce, an arts and culture community center in North Park, San Diego.

2. Dance, always, but I love anything physical. I especially love walks, play, and time spent with my pup.

3. I've been a dancer since the age of 5. The roots are deep. I can take my art with me wherever I go. This body will dance until it can't dance anymore.

4. LITVAKdance's mission and quality of work are the reason I am on the Board. The exposure to dance creators and works from outside San Diego infuses our local scene with much needed new energy.

1. I have been a Chiropractor in private practice for 31 years.

2. I love many things but the top three are: gardening, cooking and being with friends.

3. I have danced, taught, and performed since I was 12 years old.

4. The first time I saw the company perform, I was very impressed with the caliber of dancers and the way Sadie presented the company to the audience via photography and written word in the lobby.

Her innovative and unique ideas, and the opportunity to bring dance to North County is why I'm here.

Kim Hammond, member

1. Retired from owner/operator of the Hammond Studio of Dance.

2. Enjoying the time with my family - all our kids, my geezer husband and especially the newest little ones.

3. Born into a dance family. Mom and her sister were dancers and teachers. Dance lessons and recitals happened for me almost as I started to walk. Continued formal training in college and afterward went right into a 30 year stint running my studio.

4. My mom and I connected with Betzi Roe (Sadie’s mom) in our small dance community over many years and projects. I have a special bond with Sadie that goes back to the time she spent in the Hammond Studio when she was a 10 year old creative force.
